ALL OVER AGAIN - PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rhiz & The Sugarplums Capture Nashville Magic on Highly Anticipated Second Album
NASHVILLE, TN / MELBOURNE, VIC — Following the breakout success of their self-titled debut, Australia’s premier honky-tonk and rockabilly outfit, Rhiz & The Sugarplums, are set to return with a stunning new record that bridges the gap between the Victorian heartland and the neon lights of Broadway.
Recorded in September 2025 at the renowned Tree House Studios in Nashville, the upcoming album features 11 original tracks penned by frontwoman Rhiannon McArthur. Known for her ability to weave 1950s nostalgia with modern grit, McArthur’s latest songwriting evolution finds its perfect home in Music City, capturing a sound that is as authentic as it is timeless.
To bring the new songs to life, Rhiz collaborated with legendary Grammy Award-winning sound engineer Tim Carter. The sessions were anchored by an elite roster of Nashville’s finest session musicians, creating a sonic landscape that spans Western swing, soulful country ballads, and high-octane rock’n’roll. The album features:
Denis Crouch: Double bass (known for his work with Elton John, Ringo Starr, Elvis Costello, and The Time Jumpers… to name a few!)
Mark Winchester: Double bass (known for his work with Emmylou Harris & Brian Setzer)
Dakota Holden: Pedal steel (known for his work with Lukas Nelson)
Aaron Till: Fiddle and mandolin (known for his work with The Mavericks & Asleep At The Wheel)
Jeff Taylor: Accordion and piano (known for his work with The Time Jumpers & Elvis Costello)
Steve Herrman: Trumpet (known for his work with Lyal Lovett & Waylon Jennings)
Justin Amaral: Percussion and drums (known for his work with Jim Lauderdale & David Olney)
FROM THE STEAM LAUNDRY TO THE TREEHOUSE
While their debut was a love letter to the vintage microphones and analog gear of regional Victoria, this new project sees Rhiz & The Sugarplums expanding their horizons. The 11 tracks explore themes of travel, heartache, and the infectious joy of the dance floor, all while maintaining the band's signature "sweet and salty" vocal harmonies.
"Recording in Nashville at Tree House Studios felt like the next step for these songs," says McArthur. "Working with Tim Carter and this incredible group of musicians allowed us to push the boundaries of our sound while staying true to the vintage roots that define The Sugarplums."
